A discussion for track logs. When you do a new "hand drawn" loop, just add a comment (or reply) to this discussion and attach your .kmz file to the reply. Then take the link for your comment and place the link in your vet card:) Easy as pie!!!! eh?
I just got an email from Google Earth that says that are releasing a new version, GE 5.0, and that this version gives you the gps uploading capability in the free version now. So I cancelled my GE Plus subscription since that was the only reason I was subscribed anyway.
Yes, that is good news. I took the 2 month free trial of the GE-Pro (b/c it allows me to make .mov files out of the fly-throughs of the various endurance venues we've made track logs of. I'll do a special VV DoItAgain .mov too - flying around to all our various trails:) should be great fun.
Our Loop 1: Lower Camp Creek - This wash empties into the Rio Verde about 3 miles from GottaGoRanch. Sandra, Rusty, and I did the loop this morning. Just Beautiful as the desert is so green this year.
Hello John,
Well I'm starting to doubt my computer abilities...my Google will not open your kmz file. It says something is missing...@#$%&!...but I don't know if it's your file or my software. I'm leaving to go ride.
Well BarbsLoop opened straight into GE and looks great but LowerCabinCreek still will not open for me anyway. Google says that some file is missing on C:drive but it makes no sense because BarbsLoop opened perfect....uggh.
Our third loop: Maynard's Loop - named after Maynard Munger - Long time endurance rider here in the valley of the Sun - one of the true old timers of endurance - a shaper of the sport we all enjoy today.
Well, our final loop - Sandra and I saddled up in the rain and did the extended Camp Creek Wash loop. It was beautiful. The rain in the desert - the cactus nearing bloom - just exquisite!
Well it rained the whole time I was tacking up, managed to stay on a wet saddle with wet rain gear even tho Marirose virtually threw me over the tack shed, then it quit raining for the next 3 hours and we had a nice slip-slidin' ride thru the low hills. Here are 2 links just for grins.
