Flora's Track-Logs look like a horse!!

31 Days of Endurance Maddness! Ride as many horses and as many miles as you possibly can or want to for the month of March. Log your miles on the virtual vet card to for the chance to win a t-shirt for your efforts! (and if you don't win, you can always buy one:)
To register for the ride, join this group. You will, in time, receive an invitation to your vet card. Don't loose it as it will be used for all the rest of your VVRides.

Track logs can be upload by adding a reply to the TrackLogs discussion and then pasting the resulting URL into your vet card. Tracklogs converted to GoogleEarth.kmz files are prefered

If you don't really understand the above, then you might consider joining a team. Teams have secretaries that take care of you on the ride:)

You can keep a blog of your ride on your my-endurance profile page (My Page). Some examples are:

* a list of past VVRide blog posts

The Very Virtual Ride Rules will help you understand the competition rules. In overview, they are: *A Picture of a Napikin with the Rules written on it".

Remember, the start of the VVMarchMaddness ride is:

Sunrise 01Mar2009 - any miles after than, you should log
Sunset 31Mar2009 - (Generally there are 48 hours post finish to get everyone to log their miles)

have fun:)

lots of questions:)

1 - Nancy, it's easy to break the loops apart, send them to me and I'll do it for you (and anyone else that wants to use these loops in the VVMM.

2 - if you did Red Barn and don't have a track-log you can still enter the rest of the information for the loops of the ride(s) you did. Don't upload your track-logs but do fill out the loop distances, start-times,in-times, pulse times and CRI. If you don't have your vet cards with the data, then make it up (as close as you can to virtual - i mean real!! that works for a sanctioned ride. note, if you do this, let me know and you'll get an (*).

3 - to get a completion your vet card has to be filled out properly. (Jay, you still don't have any track logs - offers to help??

4 - Everyone has until sundown on Friday (that would be April 3) to completely fill out all of your miles and vet card information. At that point the ride will be closed and I'll try to have an awards ceremony on sunday evening. (that may slide ...:( If we do the awards, I'll be available on the "Chat" and will announce the placements and give the awards:) (of course, I need to get them made quickly!!!

any other closing questions? I'm in south west Idaho USA now. The sun is pretty much set and the wind is picking up. A blow is on the way I hear!

Angie, just put in her whole set of loops to "display," but count the miles you did :)

I have the white loop as a separate track but the yellow and red are together on one track since that was our whole loop and yellow with blue on the other track.because my brain was frying by that time in the ride and I forgot to turn my GPS off so those loops all ran together. I wonder if there is a way to follow the track cronologically and see where it comes back to camp, that would be a way to separate the loops.

Good thing I stopped when I did, as we have had 296mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
That translates to about 12". Our local city is partially under water, including the emergency dept of the local hospital. And we are marooned, luckily with power still and plenty of food. But they are forecasting lots more rain today and tomorrow.
Goody!

Using Nancy's is a great idea :) I feel sure we'll find a way to accept those hard-earned miles!

Hey, Nancy Sluys...did you separate yours by loop? We need two yellow loops and a white! :-)
Tonight I HAVE to write an article for Trail Blazer and Josie owes Endurance News an article TOMORROW...but when the dust dies this week I'll go back through here and try to learn how to hand draw. If there's any awards, just take us out! :-)

Angie, I think you should "attempt" to hand draw it on google earth. We can't make exceptions for people just because we love them :) Or, maybe someone else kept a track log and will send it to you! CC

Well I just went in and wrote "fifty miles" for each of our AHA/Red Barn rides. Hope nobody minds. I couldn't imagine strapping that GPS to myself in that rain, but couldn't bear not giving myself credit for riding through that storm! Mine is in a big case that rides my upper arm. We're not "in the standings" so can we just get "completion only miles"? :-)

Well I managed to sneak in another ride today. I had the time to ride further but I have a bad rub on my leg from my stormy endurance ride this past weekend and it was hurting like heck so I left it at a token 5 miles. Whew, it sure has been fun and a real eye opener as to how many miles one does ride in a month! I've been enjoying getting to know my gps better and I've loved checking out other people's tracks on GE. What fun, I think I'll do it again!
Happy Trails, Nancy

It is March 31!!! We ride till the sun sets this evening!! I find myself, this last day of March, 6 miles short of my own personal goal for March Maddness! Last year, I got in 68 miles. So this year, I set out to double that, looking for 136 miles - and here I sit, me and Mac, at 132 ... It's a cool blustery day today, with low clouds and thoughts of snow. Everyone is getting new shoes at 11.....

I'm working at the Certificates of Contemplation (CoCs) for this years ride. Megan finishing early got me going!!:)
