ice verses trekkers

Posted on January 24, 2010 at 4:51am 0 Comments

Ok mother nature is not going to ruin our plans. It is time to deploy the Trekkers. for those of you who don't know what they are?? It makes it so you can walk on snow and ice with out falling. Mine of course are orange. Anyway since riding is probly not real safe right now walking it is. I will let you all know just how many feet I mean Miles we make today. cole

hey Sally, thanks and yes that is snow. We have had three already this year none have stuck, until now. Now growing up in ND by Halloween we had 6 ft. of snow so, we have been spoiled. Happy Halloween. How is your project doing? Cole

Hi Cole,
Sorry this took so long - been neglecting my page. Taqi is a Sulphur Mustang from a herd in Utah that was discovered in the late 80's. They have been DNA'ed to be almost 100% pure Spanish Conquistador horse because they were so isolated. They are descendants of escapees that were stolen from the Spanish missions by Indians and driven down the Santa Fe Trail. They are almost genetically identical to a breed in Portugal called the Sorraia, an ancient breed that is the predecessor to the Andalusian and Lusitano. He is coming along nicely, hope to have him started under saddle by fall. He is probably going to be about 14 hands. My Mustang Trainer is a lady named Erika Williamson who rescues burros and has a rescued Mustang mare. She has connections with the BLM people too. She just signed off my paper so I can get title to him. Your guy is built like a brick house - looks like he'd hold up well to endurance riding. What herd is he from?

Hi Cole,

I may have him sold, but the proof is when the money is in hand..

But, to answer your question. I am establishing new pasture at home... very weed ridden. He attacked on of my goats and they are here to serve a purpose. I need them more than I need a 5th horse! It's that simple. Plus I could stand to downsize a little.. would really like to get down to 2 then maybe carefully bring in another endurance horse to backup my one in training now.
