Ok, so don't ask how many participated, it's still Top Ten! So now I think I have it down, but I'd still love to have the upgraded gps so I could use MotionBased to automatically plot my rides and all the data, so COOL! I'm a gadget freak...
Now, bring on the MarchMadness Very Virtual Ride!
To be continued....

On the sunniest day of the year thus far, Fiddle and I went with a bunch of Backcountry Horse friends for a leisurely stroll up in the hills above Fall City, WA.
We saw herons, cormorants, gulls, and lots of woodland birds as well...but we never saw the unusual Lingerie Bird, which apparently lives in the woods beside the trail.
We did see plenty of nesting material, however:…

Hi all! It's my first step on this site.
So, we have 11 horses of Don breed in our equestrian club.
Meet our favorite endurance warriors :-)
Predlog / Don / 2001 / Stallion / Dark chestnut / Great-grandson of the legendary Arabian sires Menes and Aswan
Gudzon / Budenny / 1999 / Gelding / Golden chestnut / Grandson of Derzkiy who was multiple champion of the USSR in show jumping…

So, the last 2 days have spoiled me. Temps in the low 40's & sunny. Today, low 30's, cloudy & breezy. What a difference.
The snow stayed crunchier, thus, not as good for moving out at all. I figured, if we weren't going to cover lots of ground today, we'd cover the technical stuff instead.

Since it was a conglomeration of trails, I've dubbed it the "4 Beer Trail" because that's how many we had! Maybe I'll get the turtle for this one, since we had to stop to open beers, stop to pee, stop to negotiate with the little old lady that chased us down in her car to tell us that all the trails were "private" and we weren't allowed to ride them, yup, I'm a magnet for getting us in trouble, but we charmed our way out. But we did get a couple good gallops into the mix. So here it is, all…Continue

Today I rode over & picked a friend to ride with. Laura rode her QH, Corona, for the first time in a few months. Even with the time off, he bahaved quite well. (He's been known not to :o))
Wildlif checklist: Antelope- a herd, playing
An Eagle watching us ride by from his perch. He did fly off after we passed.
Suprisingly, no mule deer today.

Noodle & I went investigating across the road. Searching for what looked like a trail down a ridge on google earth. It wasn't. However we did enjoy going all over the top over there. Lots of mule deer to watch & a few white tails. I can finally tell the difference. :o) (Only have white tails in MI.)
Short story shorter (some folks just showed up for a visit), here's todays trail:…Continue

While yet to do my first "official" endurance ride... I've immersed myself in the vast amounts of research and experience out there to get my "been
there done that" GaZi and I ready for our first foray together
This was sent to be me by long time endurance competitor D... and while I've yet to see this "up close and in person".. thought…Continue

My horse IS under all that mud, somewhere. I know she is, because sometimes a chunk of mud breaks off and it's got brown hair stuck to it. And I'm pretty sure that Fiddle is, uh, brown.
We have a lesson planned for this week with a new instructor, and she'll get shoes next week. Then we'll really be smokin'. Okay, not really.
The goal this year is to have…Continue
