Endurance and Long Distance Equine Disciplines

Every girls (horse girl's) dream come true is a nice horse trailer and truck to haul your horses in. At least it was my birthday wish for the past 15 years.

If you recall from my previous posts, I had a older stock gooseneck trailer that needed an upgrade. It is older, been repainted, but was still an open trailer than needed some TLC.

My precious and dear husband has heard me complain the last 3 years about how we needed a new one and all the problems it had. We shopped for weeks only to find one that was perfect and it was sold in 1 day!!

I was sad, but went on with life and kept searching, still none was quite as good as the one that got away.

I was planning on horse trailer shopping after a Sat morning ride with friends at a local farm. I hauled my other horse, since he has less "issues" with the trailer than Gunner my young horse who rocks the trailer since there are no dividers in the stock open area. I couldn't wait until 2:30, when we were going to look at another trailer that could have worked for us.

We rode for a few hours, came back and up the hill/ driveway there was a new truck/trailer there. I was wondering who it was, then realized my trailer wasn't there. My mind was racing, could it be? ! Where is my truck/ trailer? Then I realized everyone was looking at me, had cameras and I started to cry when I realized it was the one I wanted so bad, but it was sold the first day. To my husband!

I looked around and said "Where's Jonathan? Where's my trailer!" It was sinking it that many years I have waited and this was the moment I got my wish come true.

My sweet husband had planned the entire thing, and everyone was in on it.
I am still on cloud 9 and appreciate how generous, supportive and kind my husband is.
It wasn't even the trailer, it was how caring and thoughtful he was to find the right one and care so much about the presentation of it.

I can't wait until my next ride on August 27/28 at Virginia Highlands. I will get to camp in my new trailer, along with my hubby!

I loved your trailer story. My loving husband drove 7 hrs each way to pick up a new to us trailer. Aren't we lucky to be married to great guys? Horsedrivensite.net
