Endurance and Long Distance Equine Disciplines

Fiddle is now offering to lift all four feet whenever she suspects that I've got a cookie somewhere on my person. Today we worked on combining the foot lift/target touch with verbal commands.

Towards the end of the session, I started asking her to pick up the each foot and holding it up by herself...but by then, Jim was nearly frozen so he took the camera and went to sit in the car!

Fiddle pretended at first to be afraid of the rubber ducky's squeaker...but fortunately, partnering the squeak of the scary duck with the presentation of a cookie has permanently squashed her irrational fear of bathtub toys.
She is now moving on to the next step by herself--not just touching the target, but in the case of the ducky, actually picking it up and biting the head to make it squeak.

My formerly spooky guy lifts his foot up until I give him a carrot.... Very funny beings these horses. Fiddle's lucky to have a patient, humorous trainer.
