At age 69, I finally got the rig, most of the gear, and a horse (ok, so technically "The Accidental Tourist" is a pony)  together for my foray into trail and distance riding. Our initiation ride was 14 miles of muddy mucky trail on the "purple" loop at Salt Fork Lake State Park (ohio) with the Guernsey county chapter of OHC. I see that there are still equipment adjustments to make as the saddle slipped backwards on the uphill portions. Bonnies hoofboots made it, even of the hinds were a bit too large. I wanted to do the beginner ride at Scioto today, but my horse budget maxxed out with the hoofboot purchase:
