Endurance and Long Distance Equine Disciplines

A lot has happened sense I was on here last. I got my hips fixed, I will be "full duty/no restrictions" as of July first, however almost everything else is down hill from there. Early this year my mom was diagnosed with cancer, shortly after that all the bills fell on me and my other half. We have those all most sorted out and thought we saw a ray of light (mind you this is the condensed version of things) then tonight I was doing evening rounds checking on the horses and I noticed that Summer wasn't out with the group. So I went into the barn to say hi and found her, clearly gone, peacefully laying on the ground in the stall.

I have the vet coming out tomorrow to find out why, after she seemed like she was getting better, that she gave up and left us.

The rest of her group is subdued tonight, but all of them seem ok otherwise.

Vet checked her over, good health aside from heaves, gaining weight, fat in all the right places, however, with no visible outside trauma, her diaphragm ruptured.... Vet said he had never seen anything like it, and that although painful it would have been quick.
