My first limited distance ride was the Kenlyn Flat Urban Challenge on my then 24 year old quarter horse. We completed but didn't break any speed records which was fine with me. I was hooked after that! Since then I purchased two Arabs; Kenlyn Gambler and his 1/2 brother Kenlyn Beyzatal. Gambler is 6 and LOVES flying down the trail. Beyzatal is 3 and I am now getting him broke to the bridle and saddle.
I just started doing 50 mile rides with Gambler (just one so far this year) and plan to complete a total of 6 this year. We'll see how it goes.

I don't think the average Endurance Rider has IV supplies at hand.
Nor do most have IV drugs on hand. I personally do have Bute paste
now. Nearly every Endurance Rider I know has a first aid kit at some
level or another.
Bare necessities for me are: Vet Wrap, ice wraps, bandage (usually a
kotex) for bleeding, polo wraps. All of this I can carry on the
saddle have in the trailer.
