Bayrab. I believe you have a gift. Would you ask the gelding on the far right if he's okay with his new home now? His name is Ten. And then if you don't mind asking Leonardo (in the middle) if he w... Read More »

I seem to be dyslexic with g and h --I GAVE everybody basic concentrates, sheesh I hate when I spot my typos after its too late to fix them......

Oh I know the feeling. Yesterday I decided it was too cold to do my usual 'grain' routine and just have everybody basic concentrates. Normally I dab in this joint supplement and that depending on the age etc of the horse (I think instead of the 'jewish gramma cooking for everybody I make my rations more monkey work than what is actually needed. --till its so cold my fingers hurt even with good gloves and I cut it short) I call that bumpy ground the tendon workout. I only every walk horses thru it but I figure walking thru it gives the ankles lots of work. But when its icy I'm reluctant to ride at all either. Well we are warming here today it should get there soon. I may have my farrier work in the 'foaling stall' tomorrow morning though. The previous owner raised race horses and he has infrared lights in one of the stalls. I can't seal the stall anymore -we just took off the door that was no longer horse safe, but it should help some.

I am so freaking bored!!!!! I am too much of a wimp to be outside for very long when it's under 25 degrees with the ground hard as a rock and lumpy with a cruchy coating of snow and ice on top.

Motivation needed here!

Hi Troylynn,

Dang I didn't save any of that text either. I had talked to Leonardo last night and was giving you my best recollection of details. I guess I'll have to remember again. I can pm you at the AC or EF boards if sending messages isn't going to work here.

The Shamrock ride is in southern Wyoming, around 40 miles northeast of Laramie WY. I think its considered foothills of the Rocky Mnts. My profile pic is taken on one of the loops from that ride. Its a 3-day ride, 3 30's or 55/50/50 miles for a pioneer ride. Each day is entered separately and Susan gives cool awards for folks that ride all 3 days on one horse at either distance.

I don't think the average Endurance Rider has IV supplies at hand.
Nor do most have IV drugs on hand. I personally do have Bute paste
now. Nearly every Endurance Rider I know has a first aid kit at some
level or another.

Bare necessities for me are: Vet Wrap, ice wraps, bandage (usually a
kotex) for bleeding, polo wraps. All of this I can carry on the
saddle have in the trailer.
